This page explains how we decide what to cover, how we keep commercial interests out of our conclusions, and how we correct mistakes.

Independence

  • Brands cannot pay to be covered, ranked or scored, and we do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
  • Commissions from Amazon do not change a score. The score comes from the published method.
  • We name a limitation for every product we recommend, including the top pick.

What we say and what we do not

  • We distinguish four states: independently verified (we found a matching record and checked its holder, scope and date), manufacturer states (the listing says so and we could not or did not check), not verified, and not applicable.
  • Missing information lowers our confidence in a listing. It does not prove a product performs poorly.
  • We never write that a cosmetic or supplement is “FDA approved”. The FDA does not approve cosmetics.
  • We do not claim a product “works”, and we do not invent ratings, review counts, prices or test results.
  • We do not quote Amazon customer reviews or star ratings. They are not evidence of quality or certification.

Research mode

Every guide is labeled Research-based comparison unless we actually tested the products, in which case it is labeled Hands-on tested. If a guide is labeled research-based, we did not use the products.

Prices and images

Prices come from Amazon’s own data and are shown with the time they were fetched; product images supplied by Amazon are credited and link to the product page. If we cannot refresh a price, we do not show one. Amazon’s listings change often, so check the listing before you buy.

Corrections and updates

We correct factual errors promptly. When a change affects a conclusion, a score or a recommendation, we note it at the end of the guide with the date. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. To report an error, email info@naturalpicks.net.

Health and safety

Our guides are general information, not medical advice. We do not publish guides on infant formula or on drugs and medicines. If a product affects your health or skin, talk to a qualified clinician.
